Wilfried Gnonto’s transfer stance at Leeds United has been exposed despite January interest.
Wilfried Gnonto is generating January transfer interest ahead of next month’s winter market.
After a disappointing start to the season, Leeds United are willing to sell Wilfried Gnonto in the January transfer window.
After rejecting three proposals for the winger last summer, the Whites are again willing to listen to offers for him, according to Football Insider.
Following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship at the end of the previous season, there was a lot of speculation about the Italian.
Despite a £25 million offer from Everton, Gnonto remained at Elland Road over the summer deadline.
Interest in the player remains high, with reports claiming that a number of Premier League and Serie A clubs are keeping tabs on the issue.
Gnonto’s future is uncertain ahead of January.
Following his terrible start to the season, Leeds are reportedly considering selling the player in January.
The forward has struggled to establish himself in Daniel Farke’s starting lineup, appearing only 16 times in their first 22 games, with only six starts.
Gnonto has one goal and one assist in the Yorkshire club’s pursuit of promotion to the Premier League at the first attempt.
It remains to be seen what kind of number Leeds has in mind as they prepare to sell a player they signed for £3.8 million from Swiss side FC Zurich in the summer of 2022.
Gnonto’s arrival sparked a lot of excitement, and he garnered a lot of accolades in his debut season at Elland Road.
He has two goals and four assists in 24 Premier League matches, but he has not been able to provide the same level of quality to the squad this season in the Championship.
His sale is now viewed as a means of increasing the team’s transfer budget as Leeds attempt to assemble a team capable of achieving a top-flight berth this season.

As we approach the halfway point of the season, Leeds sit third in the second division table, 10 points below the automatic promotion places.
A 1-1 draw with Coventry City on Saturday afternoon stopped the Whites from closing the gap on second-placed Ipswich Town, who had previously drawn with Norwich City.
