Liverpool has just received an offer from Fabio Carvalho and must now make a significant decision.
Liverpool has received an offer for Fabio Carvalho and must now decide what to do with the youngster. This month, Carvalho returned from RB Leipzig.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Wolves want Fabio Carvalho and have already approached Liverpool about a loan deal. After his return from RB Leipzig, they want him for the rest of the season.
In the summer, Carvalho traveled to Germany in search of what appeared to be an ideal loan offer. However, it swiftly turned into a disaster as Leipzig seldom used the playmaker.
There was no goal, no assist, and only 135 Bundesliga minutes. It couldn’t get any worse – not even the equivalent of two full games. Both Liverpool and Carvalho wanted to terminate the deal, which they did once the transfer season opened.
However, Carvalho’s talent has resulted in offers. Wolves are interested in him, and he has been linked with Fulham. According to Romano, other ‘top six’ Championship clubs have also made bids for Liverpool.
That should come as no surprise, considering Carvalho’s contributions to Fulham’s promotion campaign are what established his name. Plenty of Championship clubs would like to have that in their squad as they compete for a place in the Premier League.
Liverpool must now determine what they want. Carvalho would be assured to play every week in the Championship – and would most likely perform as one of the league’s finest players.
The Premier League would not provide him with the same guarantee, but it would provide him with a lot greater learning experience. After all, Carvalho has once achieved the Championship’s pinnacle; it’s arguable how much he benefits from repeating the feat.
But, as Romano points out, first and foremost, Liverpool wants that guaranteed gametime. Finding a club that can legitimately offer that is priority number one, and that will win Carvalho a club this month.
