REPORT: Dallas Cowboys Owner Suggestions Green Bay Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy Be Fired

Following their NFC East-clinching win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was noncommittal about keeping head coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders to earn the NFC’s second seed.

Next Sunday, they will face the Green Bay Packers. And the game against McCarthy’s former team could be the cause for his demise in Dallas.

The owner of the Dallas Cowboys has sent a message to Mike McCarthy.

Reporters queried Jones about McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys, according to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Jones stated that he would wait and watch how “each game” in the playoffs played out.

Jones’ statement comes with another big weekend report. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys would keep McCarthy if his team played well in the playoffs:

“There is still a sense around the league, and even within the Cowboys organization, that coach Mike McCarthy will be judged by how Dallas’ final game goes.”

McCarthy has a good chance of keeping his job if the Cowboys perform well in the playoffs. However, if they struggle and end the season with an embarrassing loss, like they have the past two years, some believe that change may be on the way in Dallas.”
