All Lions: Taylor Decker Hopes to Finish Career in Detroit

With the Kansas City Chiefs lifting the Lombardi Trophy, another NFL season has come to an end. As a result, all eyes are focused on the 2024 campaign.

The Detroit Lions face a number of decisions ahead of the start of free agency, with many key players due for contracts.

Quarterback Jared Goff, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and both starting tackles Penei Sewell and Taylor Decker are among the team’s prominent extension eligible players.

Decker has been solid working as the team’s left tackle, and he told reporters that he has no plans to leave Detroit.

“I definitely want to end my career here,” Decker said to MLive. “Ultimately, I believe that this is where I want to be. Of course, you want money, but I like it here. I really enjoy being here. I was able to help climb out of the trenches, and it’s been interesting to observe the other side of things over the last year and a half.
“I’m not sure what will happen with the contract.” So far, there has been nothing substantive in the negotiations. But, finally, do I want to stay here forever? One hundred percent. So, we shall see.”

Here’s a roundup of some important storylines involving the Lions on Monday, February 12.
