REVEALED: A whopping 882 private jets left Las Vegas after the Super Bowl including Taylor Swift’s… with one flying just 29 minutes and another 81 heading just an hour to Los Angeles!

Not only was Super Bowl LVIII the most viewed game in television history, but the largest event on the NFL calendar also brought a near-record number of private jets to Las Vegas over the weekend.

Sunday’s event is the second in Sin City history, trailing only the first Las Vegas Grand Prix, which attracted roughly 1,000 private jets to Southern Nevada.

Obviously, Taylor Swift’s 13-hour flight from her tour engagement in Tokyo received the most attention, and for good reason. Her Bombardier Global 6000 would have produced more than 50 tons of pollution between Japan and Los Angeles alone, not counting the second leg of her voyage to Las Vegas.

However, many of the private jets were utilized for relatively shorter flights. One flight lasted less than 30 minutes, and 81 private jets flew back and forth to Los Angeles, which is less than an hour distant. This is crucial since private airplanes produce five to 14 times more pollutants per passenger than commercial planes and 50 times more than trains, according to the European clean transportation organization Transport & Environment.

With little parking space in Las Vegas for all of the extra equipment, numerous private jets were expected to fly to surrounding airports before being called upon for the return voyage.

‘We anticipate a significant number of drop-and-go operations. Joe Rajchel, a spokesman for the Clark County Department of Aviation, told CNN that such incidents are not uncommon.

Private plane travel is a significant environmental concern. Although demand decreased slightly last year, the International Energy Agency estimates that private plans emit 800 million tons of CO2 per year.

CNN reports that this accounts for approximately 2% of total worldwide energy-related emissions.

Meanwhile, superstars like Swift and Elon Musk have fought to keep facts about their usage of private planes hidden, claiming safety concerns.

Critics have accused the musician and investor of attempting to avoid unwanted press.
