Leeds United boss Daniel Farke provides injury updates on Patrick Bamford and Sam Byram ahead of Championship trip to Plymouth Argyle.

Patrick Bamford will miss Saturday’s Championship game at Plymouth Argyle due to a calf injury, according to Leeds United manager Daniel Farke.

Bamford, who has been in outstanding form since returning to the starting lineup at the start of the year, was replaced in the warm-up ahead of Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Swansea City by Joel Piroe.
He will also miss next Friday’s home game against leaders Leicester City.

Full-back Sam Byram will also miss the club’s next two matches due to a hamstring injury, and he will be out for a similar amount of time as Bamford.
Better news: Jamie Shackleton has returned to the squad following the birth of his newborn son. He missed the midweek game in Wales.
Farke stated that Patrick is out for this game due to calf issues.
“We don’t expect him to be out for long, but he will not be available for the Plymouth game.

“We also do not expect him to be available for the game against Leicester. If he makes it, it will be a pleasant surprise; but, we believe he will return for the cup game (with Chelsea) or the following league game (against Huddersfield).

“He’s out for more or less for 10-12 days, overall.”
Regarding Byram, he added: “It’s a hamstring problem, and he’s also unavailable for the (Plymouth) game. It is the same as Patrick. I don’t think he’ll be prepared for Leicester.

“If it’s possible, it would be a wonderful little surprise, but we’ll surely play the next game, and most likely the Leicester game, without Patrick and Sam.

“On the other hand, there is positive news for Jamie Shackleton. He’s back, available, and ready to go.

“Obviously, he has an injury, but there is excellent news for him (with his newborn son). We need every man right now, and it’s great to have one more in our corner. He was exhausted but joyful, and it’s great to have him back.”

Aside from the absence of Pascal Struijk and Stuart Dallas, everyone else is fit for the journey to Home Park.
