Harry Redknapp shares David Moyes sack verdict after West Ham updates

Harry Redknapp has defended David Moyes amid growing calls for his dismissal at West Ham, with the 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday 17 February bringing the club’s winless streak to eight matches.

Despite a strong start to the season, the Hammers have slowed in recent weeks and are currently ninth in the Premier League, without a win since December.

Former West Ham manager Redknapp, on the other hand, has gone to Moyes’ aid, defending the current manager for the club’s recent bad performance at the London Stadium.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on Monday (19 February, 8:11am), he said: “You can only play with what you have. David Moyes has a collection of decent players who should finish in the top seven or eight, and that is exactly what they are doing.
“They won the cup last year. I don’t know what more he’s meant to do. He can’t just come out and make them play like Manchester City; they don’t have the players.

“David is no idiot. He makes the most of his resources. It’s not easy on the eyes for the spectators, who want to see more attacking football, but I doubt they will because it is not David’s style of play.”
Redknapp will appreciate the difficult predicament that Moyes is currently in at West Ham better than most.
The 60-year-old has given the club one of its most memorable moments, winning the Europa Conference League in a nail-biting thriller against Fiorentina in Prague, Czechia.
However, football is a results-driven sport, and Moyes’ team has yet to win in eight matches.

During that time, the Hammers were knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship club Bristol City, blasted 3-0 and 6-0 by Manchester United and Arsenal, respectively, allowing 16 goals and scoring four.
The dissatisfaction at London Stadium is understandable, as evidenced by the massive walkout against Arsenal on Sunday, February 11.
