Would the Rams consider signing this former second-round pick at running back?
The Los Angeles Rams discovered a breakout talent in running back Kyren Williams this season. The Notre Dame product had an immediate impact, rushing for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in his 12 games. Williams is a physical back, which takes its toll on the season, as evidenced by his missed games and, most recently, a fractured hand in the NFC Wild Card game against the Detroit Lions.
With only Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans listed as backup running backs, may the Rams consider adding some more established depth? Williams has demonstrated that he can be an every-down back, so LA would not want to spend much money bringing someone in, which is why former Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins may be the perfect fit.
Dobbins has suffered numerous ailments, including an ACL tear in 2021 and an Achilles tear this season. It’s terrible for Dobbins, but the reality is that this could benefit the Rams because it will most certainly lower his free agency price. Sportrac’s current anticipated market value for Dobbins is roughly $2 million per year for the upcoming offseason.
