LEICESTER CITY: MATCH OFFICIALS ANNOUNCED

The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship meeting with Leicester City have been confirmed, with Craig Pawson taking command.

After gaining valuable experience as an assistant, Pawson made his EFL refereeing debut in League Two in 2008, officiating the opener between Grimsby Town and Rochdale. In that first season, Pawson would officiate 23 times in the EFL and FA Cup.
Throughout his tenure, the Sheffield native has presided over the 2021/22 FA Cup final, the 2016/17 EFL Cup final, a League Two Play-Off final, and two Community Shields.

This season, the 44-year-old has overseen 20 encounters in the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and European competitions. In the Europa League, Pawson has played against Panathinaikos and Villarreal, Qarabag FK and Bayer Leverkusen, and Ajax and AEK Athens.

Last season’s home setback to Liverpool was Pawson’s 11th time in charge of the Whites, with three wins and three draws. In 41 meetings with Leicester, the Foxes have won 13, drawn eight, and lost twenty.

Pawson last appeared in the Europa Conference League in Belgium, when Union Saint-Gilloise drew 2-2 with German team Eintracht Frankfurt. He received six yellow cards and one red card.
