David Moyes explains when decision on West Ham future will become clear

David Moyes feels it will become evident whether the moment is right to leave West Ham at the end of the season, as he considers following Jurgen Klopp’s lead and quitting his job this summer.
Moyes confirmed on Friday that he has been offered an extension to his current contract, which is set to expire at the end of June.
However, the 60-year-old says he wants to wait and see how the rest of the season plays out before making a decision on his future this summer.
The Scot’s attitude will do little to alleviate the concern around the club, with last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest extending their winless streak to eight games and prompted some fans to erect a ‘Moyes Out’ banner in the away end.

As recently as the beginning of the month, Moyes had stated that he intended to stay at the club. When asked if fan complaints had prompted him to reconsider, the 60-year-old replied: “There will always be periods at football clubs when you believe you might need a change.

“West Ham are currently in one of the greatest positions they have been in a long time. I don’t want to keep repeating it because it sounds like I’m defending it, but the facts are there.
“There is a level that West Ham can go, and we need to figure out where it is. But a manager’s responsibility is to raise expectations, which I believe we’ve done.”

There will be at least one high-profile vacancy in the Premier League this summer, as Klopp prepares to end his storied tenure at Anfield.
The German cited declining energy reserves as a big role in his decision and is anticipated to take an extended vacation from management when the season concludes, while Moyes has not ruled out leaving on similar grounds.
