FORMER PREMIER LEAGUE WINNER WITH LEICESTER ANNOUNCES PLANS  CITY TO RETIRE FROM FOOTBALL AT THE END OF THE SEASON.

Sint-Truiden have announced that veteran striker Shinji Okazaki would retire at the end of the season. This season, the 37-year-old has made only five appearances for the team due to injury. The attacker joined the Canaries in the summer of 2022 and has made 39 appearances, scoring two goals.

Okazaki will hang his boots up after a successful career that has seen him play in Japan, Germany, England, Spain and now Belgium. He started out at Shimmizu S-Pulse before joining VfB Stuttgart in 2011. He played 85 games for the side and scored 13 goals in a season and a half. Following this, he joined Mainz in the summer of 2013 and scored 29 goals in two seasons.

Leicester then signed him in 2015, with Okazaki being part of the incredible side that defied the odds to win the Premier League. He left the English club in 2019 having made 137 appearances and scored 19 goals. He then played for both SD Huesca and Cartagena before ending up in Belgium.
