Newcastle could have the chance to sign ‘flawless’ winger for just £30m this summer.

Newcastle United are looking to improve their attacking options this summer, and one long-term goal, a quality winger, could be made available.

The Geordies have been following Juventus winger Federico Chiesa since the summer of 2023 without success, but they may be able to secure an inexpensive deal in the coming months.

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, the winger could be available for as cheap as £30 million as Juventus looks to offload one of their top performances.

Star winger is prepared to make a transfer.
Chiesa has had a lot of serious injuries while in Turin, and Juventus is aiming to cash in on the Italian international while they still can, promoting Kenan Yildiz as their new starting attacker.

Chiesa, who has previously been hailed as ‘flawless’, is also reported to be willing to leave Juventus and start again, with Newcastle and Premier League rivals Liverpool among the clubs interested in him.

The Merseyside club is prepared for life beyond Jurgen Klopp and, maybe, Mohammed Salah, as they may undergo a full rebuild this summer, with Chiesa being one name they want to replace the Egyptian with.

The £30 million fee should not be an issue for any club; it is just whether they see him fitting in with their current style of play and are ready to take a chance on his injury record, which appears to have taken another hit this week as he did not practice with the squad on Thursday.

Newcastle will have a few players capable of playing down the right wing ahead of the new season, so numbers aren’t an issue, but their alternatives lack experience or are ineffective.

Eddie Howe presently has two choices at his disposal: Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy, but neither is Champions League calibre, which they will want to challenge for next season.

Yankuba Minteh will be an alternative option when he returns from his loan at Feyenoord, where he shone and saw European football, but he still lacks experience and it is unclear whether he can make it in the Premier League.

It’s clearly one area that Newcastle would prioritise in order to go to the next level, and if Chiesa can stay fit, he has the track record both in Italy and internationally to suggest he could be an ideal candidate.
