Newcastle United vs Wolves injury news: Eddie Howe and Gary O’Neil are both dealing with selection issues ahead of today’s encounter.

Newcastle United host Wolves on Saturday at St James’ Park, looking to build on their penalty shootout victory against Blackburn Rovers in midweek. The Magpies were under-par at Ewood Park, but they advanced thanks to the heroics of Martin Dubravka.

They were able to start Alexander Isak and Joe Willock in that game, though, and Eddie Howe welcomed Elliot Anderson back into the first-team fold after a four-month hiatus. Newcastle United were trounced by Arsenal last weekend, allowing Wolves to surpass them in the table with their win against Sheffield United.

Gary O’Neil’s side also won the FA Cup in midweek, beating Brighton and Hove Albion at Molineux. However, their victory was marred by the injury of their joint-top scorer, Hwang Hee-chan.

Speaking on Friday, O’Neil confirmed that he will be without the South Korean international for the trip to the northeast, as well as fellow joint-top scorer Matheus Cunha. We take.

Cunha is Wolves’ joint highest scorer in all competitions this season, but he will not play against Newcastle United this weekend. Cunha suffered a hamstring injury against Brentford earlier this month and is unlikely to return to the team until after the international break.

Hwang Hee-chan, the Wolves’ other joint-leading scorer this season, will miss Saturday’s game. O’Neil said he would be ‘amazed’ to have the striker at his disposal at St James’ Park.

Pope dislocated his shoulder during December’s triumph against Manchester United. There is hope that he will be able to return to action later this month.
