Dan Ashworth may be leaving Newcastle for a Man United in crisis amid Erik ten Hag sack claim.

The latest Newcastle United news is that the former Brighton player is currently on gardening leave after declaring his intention to join Manchester United.

Dan Ashworth is expected to transfer from Newcastle United to Manchester United after Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Red Devils’ new minority owner, targeted the sporting director.

Ashworth is now on gardening leave at St James’ Park for up to 18 months, having informed the club of his desire to relocate to Old Trafford. He is, however, unable to begin employment at the club until either considerable compensation is given to Newcastle or his notice period is completed.

While the Red Devils have yet to make their move, they are anticipated to try to negotiate a fee with Newcastle in order to appoint him. If they cannot reach an agreement, he will have to wait until the end of next year to join the team.

In any case, a move to Manchester United appears to be on the cards for the future. When it happens, the sporting director may be joining a club full of uncertainty and on the verge of a major

There has been much speculation over manager Erik ten Hag’s long-term future. The Dutchman will have one year left on his contract at the end of the season, but it has been reported that the club may try to make a change following an unimpressive season thus far.

Sir has failed to openly endorse the present manager, fueling rumours over his future. According to the Manchester Evening News, a few Manchester United players are ‘concerned’ about the demands placed on them this season, which has resulted in a large injury list.

Old Trafford great Paul Scholes also believes that INEOS, the club’s new joint owners, have already made a choice. He told Optus Sport, “I believe they [INEOS] have already made up their mind. I don’t think he’ll be around next season. No.”

“Based on the discussions we’ve had with Sir Jim, I believe there has been some hostility towards the club over the previous ten or eleven years, particularly in the last two. I don’t think he’s pleased with what’s happening. I would not be shocked if they are currently seeking for a new manager. I’m not saying it was the correct decision.”

Depending on when he takes over, one of Ashworth’s first duties at Old Trafford could be to assist in the hunt for a new manager. Among the names being connected are Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.Jim Ratcliffe
