The wife of one of Newcastle United’s best players gave birth to her second child on Mother’s Day, the couple announced on social media.

Bruno Guimaraes and Ana Lidia Martins announced the arrival of their son Pietro on Instagram on Sunday, March 10.

The pair, who married in June last year, welcomed their second kid, Mateo, in October 2022, following Bruno’s big money relocation from Lyon in January.

Bruno’s Instagram remark, translated from Portuguese to English, read: “Pietro, my love, you have no idea how much you are desired by your family!”

“May you be extremely happy, my son. Your family adores you more than anything.”

Teammates Anthony Gordon and Joelinton both congratulated Bruno and Ana on Instagram, while Wolves footballer Joao Gomes added: “What a blessing”.

Bruno, who has three goals and nine yellow cards this season, is expected to be in the team for Monday night’s trip to Stamford Bridge, where the Magpies can move into a Europa Conference League berth if they defeat 11th-placed Chelsea.
