With NFL free agency beginning on Monday with legal tampering, this is a good opportunity to look at what the Cleveland Browns roster now looks like. We will designate players as “likely locks” with the understanding that a few are not certain locks, but if they are not, another player at their position will be required.

You can quarrel with a player or two on the first list, but the goal is to grasp the roster’s present composition.

None of their contracts include guaranteed money, but LB Tony Fields II, CB Kahlef Hailassie, WR Michael Woods, and OL Drew Forbes are among those who will almost certainly be on the team’s 90-man roster.

When it comes to NFL free agency, at least the most important phase, teams are mostly bringing in players who are guaranteed to be on their opening roster, barring injury. With 39 players as virtual locks and five draft picks, the Browns appear to have nine roster places open for free agents, in addition to the 18 players under contract and the remainder of the 90-man roster when it is formed.
