Newcastle United star’s summer departure plans revealed as Fulham cool on Chelsea chase.

The most recent Premier League transfer speculations, featuring updates from Newcastle, Chelsea, Fulham, and Tottenham.

Here’s our midweek round-up of Premier League transfer rumours, starting with Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier. The 33-year-old was linked with a January move to Bayern Munich, but that didn’t happen, leading to speculation that he could be looking for a new club.

However, Fabrizio Romano claims otherwise, according to a Caught Offside story. Apparently, Eddie Howe and the upper management at Newcastle “are still happy with Trippier to stay and be a part of their project,” which is why they rejected Bayern’s bid over the winter. Romano does, admittedly, add “it’s still March, so let’s wait,” which is some excellent ground-covering work. You must admire it.

The 3AM Verdict: This could be Newcastle’s last chance to cash in on a guy whose age isn’t exactly going down, Benjamin Button style, so there will undoubtedly be some debate about moving him on – and some extremely up-and-down form this season will likely add to the conjecture. The question is whether Tino Livramento is ready to be a starter. If not, keeping an experienced campaigner sounds like a good idea.

Fulham’s interest in Chelsea has cooled.
Some good news for Fulham fans, but not so much for their neighbours a couple of postcodes away in Chelsea. The Cottagers are preparing a contract extension for star centre-half Tosin Adarabioyo, which is all well and good, but their growing confidence

According to TeamTalk, there is “growing confidence” that Adarabioyo will stay at Craven Cottage, which will cause them to “cool their interest” in Chalobah, one of the home-grown players Chelsea wants to sell in order to fund another spending spree this summer. Other teams may be interested, but this might be a move that sees one of Chelsea’s top suitors exit the market at a time when the club desperately needs to sell.

The 3AM Verdict: Adarabioyo is a good player, and keeping him would be fantastic news for Fulham, as well as everyone who enjoys seeing Paul Merson struggle to pronounce names more complicated than ‘Smith’ on Soccer Saturday. We expect Chelsea to find another buyer for Chalobah, but with less competition, the price will fall, which is terrible news given the Premier League’s profit and sustainability requirements.

Finally, Sport Witness reports that Tottenham Hotspur dispatched scouts to observe Union Saint-Gilloise’s Mohamed Amoura play against Fenerbahçe in the Europa League, but they returned gushing about a different player.

Fener midfielder Ismail Yüksek, a Turkish international and late bloomer, reportedly “convinced” them with his performance, and they will return to watch him play in the Turkish Super Lig. According to the source, the 25-year-old is valued at roughly €7.5 million (£6.4 million), so if he’s as talented as Spurs’ scouts believe, he may be a steal.
