THE Irons’ thrashing of Freiburg last night was a magnificent start-to-finish illustration of what most fans have been clamouring for Moyes to do: attack, writes CanDH FB FOLLOWER Brian Gay!

The much-criticised manager ultimately selected an attacking eleven with the instructions to produce an overwhelming victory.

Our gifted attackers embraced the job, delivering with confidence and clearly enjoying the opportunity to showcase their abilities.

This was exemplified by Lucas Paqueta’s annoyance at being substituted on the hour; he was clearly enjoying the offensive tactics.

We’ve never had such a collection of attacking talent at our disposal at once, so watching them play with straight jackets on for much of the season has been a pain; some of these players may not be back next season, and most of us want to see them play to their strengths, as they did last night.

I get that having players healthy and available is important, but removing JWP to rejig the assault with a rejuvenated Mikey Antonio leading the line brought out the best in Mo Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and, of course, Paqueta himself.

Those four in their best places delivered, and with indications that Danny Ings is also up for the job, Moyes is in the best position to allow us to attack our way to the conclusion of the season!

We may not win the Europa League or improve our league position, but we will have a much greater chance than if we started games slowly and sat back.

By implementing last night’s methods, fans and players alike will have a more enjoyable journey until the end of the season. Now it’s up to David Moyes to deliver. Please let them play the offensive style!
