Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr sends one-word message to West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta

David Moyes’ side advanced to the last eight of the UEFA Europa League after defeating Freiburg 5-0 at the London Stadium on Thursday (14 March).

West Ham went into their second-leg match 1-0 down, but they immediately levelled when Paqueta opened the scoring in the ninth minute, sliding the ball into an empty net at the far post after Aaron Cresswell flicked on a corner.

Following the match, Paqueta resorted to his personal Instagram account (14 March) and shared a series of images of himself rejoicing, captioned “Glory and honour to you, Jesus! Classified, the dream continues.”

Among the different responses was one of European football’s top talents and Paqueta’s international teammate, Vincius Jr, who said, “Craque” which is translated to “ace” or “expert” and is used in Brazil to refer to a brilliant footballer.

The Hammers had a fantastic European night, with several of their top players performing admirably, especially Mohammed Kudus, who scored twice, the first of which was a great wonder goal.

For Paqueta, it was just another day at the office, as West Ham fans had grown accustomed to their midfielder’s stunning performances.

It is the type of shape that may pique the interest of Europe’s elite, as seen by Vinicius’ comment on Paqueta’s Instagram photo.

Following a failed deal to Manchester City last summer, supporters at the London Stadium will be concerned that the vultures will return this summer.

Vinicius’ comment suggests that the winger may be persuaded to speak with Real Madrid officials about the potential of moving Paqueta to La Liga, a move that the playmaker would undoubtedly find difficult to turn down.

Whatever happens, Hammers fans will be happy to continue enjoying Paqueta’s excellent performances while he is still wearing a West Ham shirt.

In other West Ham United news, David Ornstein has offered a “plausible” verdict following Moyes’ sacking decision.
