Cleveland Browns Add Another Rival Veteran Quarterback On Sunday, After Last Season’s Horrible Blunder.
Cleveland Browns 2023 Week After Josh Dobbs was dealt to the Arizona Cardinals at the end of the preseason, Deshaun Watson and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson shared the quarterback room.
The Browns saw Deshaun Watson hurt several times this season, and before you knew it, Thompson-Robinson and practice squad quarterback PJ Walker were starting games, and it was not nice.
Watson was injured again for the remainder of the season in mid-November, and the Browns were fortunate to sign Joe Flacco, who led them to the playoffs.
The Browns did not bring Flacco back for the 2024 season, so they signed Jameis Winston as a backup. On Sunday, they signed another veteran backup quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns reached an agreement with Tyler Huntley.
According to Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns have reached an agreement with former Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley.
#Browns have agreed to terms with former #Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley.
Huntley spent his first four NFL seasons in Baltimore, backing up quarterback Lamar Jackson. Huntley received plenty of time in 2021 and 2022 as Jackson went down with injuries in the midst of the season, and he even made the Pro Bowl in 2022.
The quarterback room is 100 times better than it was at the start of last season, and Watson is coming off a shoulder injury, so having more veteran quarterbacks in the room is beneficial in case Watson is unable to play Week One.
