Minnesota Timberwolves Suffer Another Unfortunate Frontcourt Injury Ahead Of Clash Vs. Denver Nuggets

The Minnesota Timberwolves’ depleted frontcourt could become even thinner this Tuesday when they face the reigning NBA champions Denver Nuggets at home. Minnesota big man Naz Reid looked to sustain a head injury in the first half of Monday night’s game against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City and was later declared out for the remainder of the game by Minnesota.

Reid’s injury does not bode well for his opportunity to play against the Nuggets. The Timberwolves, who are already without Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns, might have three big men out for the Denver game if Reid is ultimately sidelined. Minnesota’s hope is that Reid will be OK and ready to face the Nuggets.

Reid is having a tremendous stretch, taking advantage of the extra minutes he’s getting in Towns’ absence. Reid has averaged 20.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks in his previous five games, shooting 50 percent from the field and 46.2% from behind the arc.

If Reid is forced to sit out the Denver game, the Timberwolves will most likely give Luka Garza additional minutes and even a starting spot at the five position against the Nuggets.

Before leaving the game against the Jazz, Reid had 17 points and four rebounds in 17 minutes to help the Timberwolves win 114-104.
