Timberwolves missing top 3 big men vs. Nuggets with Reid’s head injury
Minneapolis (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves were without their top three big men for a crucial battle against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night.
Naz Reid was out with a head ailment, and Rudy Gobert missed his third game in a row due to a sprained left rib. Karl-Anthony Towns, an All-Star, missed his eighth consecutive game due to a meniscus tear in his left knee.
Reid missed the second half of Monday’s game at Utah after being elbowed in the head. Coach Chris Finch predicted Reid’s absence would be brief.
All-Star Anthony Edwards, who was also wounded the night before against the Jazz, started against the Nuggets despite being labeled as questionable with a sprained and dislocated left middle finger. The injury occurred during a jaw-dropping dunk, which was one of the league’s season highlights.
