West Ham United have reportedly joined the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the race for one of the Premier League’s most highly sought-after strikers.

The Hammers are in need of bolstering their attacking ranks at the end of the season, with a new centre-forward a must.

A new striker at West Ham would alleviate some of Michail Antonio’s duty while also assisting Jarrod Bowen.

According to The Sun, the Hammers have set their sights on Ivan Toney, a player who is also wanted by Spurs and Chelsea.

According to the article, West Ham, Tottenham, and Chelsea are the three top bidders, with Arsenal reportedly cooling their interest.

According to one insider, the Hammers consider Toney as a real statement signing who can help them go to the next level.

West Ham join Tottenham and Chelsea in the Ivan Toney race.
Toney would be an excellent choice for West Ham. The 28-year-old has established himself in the Premier League over the last few years and would significantly boost their attacking strength.

The ‘world-class’ Hammers, Spurs, and Blues target returned to action this year after serving a ban. He scored four goals in his first five appearances back for Brentford.

And, despite the fact that the Bees have been missing key players in recent weeks, and Toney has had less playing time, he has performed admirably.

West Ham will undoubtedly prefer to sign Toney over Chelsea, who are currently struggling and do not appear to be on track to compete in Europe this season.

Tottenham will be a more difficult opponent, since they are still in contention for a Champions League spot.

Of course, if Arsenal rekindles their interest, they might cause problems for the Hammers as well.

According to Sportslens, Toney may be available for as little as £60 million this summer. This represents a huge drop from his stated £100 million price tag in January.
