West Ham United youngster Blaise Uwandji has been observed on trial with Queens Park Rangers ahea

d of a summer move, according to West London Sport.

According to the news outlet’s website (22 March), the 20-year-old forward has moved across London, with a permanent departure from the Hammers expected when his contract expires this summer.

“Fulham’s Ma’kel Bogle-Campbell is one of four players featuring in a match for QPR’s development side today,” they announced on their website.

“Right-back Nick Nkansa-Dwamena, 18, and left-back Henry Curtis, 20, both of Ipswich Town, are in the Rangers squad to face Sheffield Wednesday, as is attacker Blaise Uwandji, 20, of West Ham.

“All four players have been given a trial with the R’s as they are expected to be released from their contracts at the end of the season.”

West Ham’s levels have risen recently.
West Ham’s academy has always had high levels, and if you’re good enough, you’ll get the chance to break through.

However, in recent years, the first-team has improved, with players such as Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, Declan Rice, Kurt Zouma, and Michail Antonio occupying starting spots.

That means it’s more difficult than ever for someone from the academy to break into the team, and if Divin Mubama is failing to earn opportunities, someone like Uwandji never had a chance.

At the age of 20, he is at a point in his career where he needs to be playing frequently and developing in order to realize his full potential, which will not happen at West Ham.

A move to QPR appears to be a solid option for him, as it will take him off the books at the London Stadium, freeing up room for someone else to press their claim.

In other West Ham news, one of the club’s stars is close to joining a Premier League rival on a free transfer.
