West Ham United transfer news: Ollie Arblaster update emerges at London Stadium with deal on cards.

The Daily Mail reports that West Ham United want to buy Sheffield United midfielder Ollie Arblaster following his breakthrough season at Bramall Lane.

According to the newspaper’s website, offers for Chris Wilder may be difficult to turn down as the Blades face relegation from the Premier League.

The 19-year-old has only made three league games for the Blades after spending half of the season on a highly profitable loan spell at Port Vale, but the last two, against Bournemouth and Fulham, were starts.

Arblaster’s efforts in those games have not only rewarded Wilder’s trust in him, but have also alerted numerous Premier League teams to his great potential, including West Ham.

There’s no question that David Moyes is under pressure as West Ham’s uneven form continues, but there’s even less doubt that the Scot has an excellent track record of nurturing players from the lower levels.

Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, who are now regulars in the England team, have both had career-best seasons under Moyes, while new signings Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez have proven to be useful additions this season with James Ward-Prowse in midfield.

Sheffield United look destined for the Championship, barring a late-season recovery, despite Arblaster’s strong profile stemming from his top-flight achievements and loan periods at Port Vale and Bradford Park Avenue.

Wilder will definitely want to retain the Sheffield-born player at the Blades, but if anybody can help him become a Premier League midfielder for the foreseeable future, it’s Moyes and the system he’s constructed at West Ham
