Peter Newton appointed Patron of Easts Group and Sydney Roosters.

We are happy to announce that Peter Newton has been named a patron of both Easts Group and Sydney Roosters.

For 23 years, from January 2001 to March 2024, Mr. Newton served as a director on the boards of the Easts Group and the Sydney Roosters. He is the original Chair of the Club’s Foundation and Heritage Committees and most recently led the Sydney Roosters’ wildly successful 2023 Hall of Fame celebration.

Mr. Newton is still the chair of the Foundation and Heritage Committees, despite having just resigned from his position as a director of the Easts Group and Sydney Roosters Boards.

Mr. Nick Politis AM, Chairman of the Easts Group | Sydney Roosters, stated that Mr. Newton’s exceptional services to both companies over a twenty-year period are recognised with this esteemed position.

Peter embodies many of the ideals that our Club espouses. Mr. Politis stated, “He has been designated Patron of both Easts Group and Sydney Roosters in recognition of his outstanding and excellent contribution to both organisations throughout his 23 years as a Director. He is passionate, proud, successful, and a person of great integrity.

While Mr Newton was serving on the board, Easts Group’s value increased dramatically and the Sydney Roosters achieved a number of victories on the pitch, including four NRL and one NRLW premierships, four World Club Challenge titles, and numerous minor premierships and titles in lower grades. Off the pitch, the team saw record growth in membership and sponsorship, the establishment of the Sydney Roosters Foundation, and the creation of the Sydney Roosters Heritage Committee.

He is a Life Member of the Sydney Roosters Rugby League Football Club and Easts Leagues.
