Former Pirates Star Retires Aged 33.

The SuperSport United development product made his debut as a youngster with Matsatsansa in 2009 and went on to play a key role in the first team for three seasons. He was previously considered one of South Africa’s best midfield players.

Before the Pirates called in 2012, he had won the league in the 2009–10 season, then in 2012–13, he played in a domestic triple with the Buccaneers, earning another league championship.

Alongside players like Oupa Mamyisa, Andile Jali, Issa Sarr, and Lehlogonolo Masalesa, “Bibo” contributed to an outstanding midfield before going on to represent South Africa as a full senior international.

However, in 2016, he tested positive for cocaine, a prohibited substance, and was banned for four years. His career came to an abrupt end, and he didn’t play again until July 2019, when Baroka allowed him to resume.

His form and fitness were obviously below the standards needed to play professional football, thus he only made one appearance for the team before quitting. However, he was given another opportunity with Swallows, in his hometown of Soweto.

However, he was cut loose after just two games with the Dube Birds, and on Thursday he announced his intention to end his career on social media.
