Tigers affiliates manage an organizational sweep on Tuesday.

On Tuesday night, the Hens returned home, and they gave the home fans a thrilling comeback victory.

In the bottom of the first inning with nobody aboard, Jace Jung opened the scoring with his second home run of the year. Despite getting the start, Austin Bergner let up three runs in the second inning. The Hens made a comeback in the bottom half of the inning as the right-hander recovered with a clean third.

Andrew Navigato hit a single through the left side of the infield with one out. Navigato was scored by Buddy Kennedy with a double to center field, and Kennedy was subsequently brought in by a Jung single to square the game at three.

Left-handed In the fourth inning, Andrew Vasquez relieved as the bridge, but he hit Carter Bins to begin the inning. After Bins was hit by Canaan Smith-Njigba to third base, Smith-Njigba was pushed to second base by Nick Gonzales’ ground ball, which brought Bins home. In the end, a run was saved when Dillon Dingler stopped Gonzales in his attempt to steal second base. Vasquez then gave up another single before ending the inning.

After Vasquez’s fifth inning of scoreless ball, the Hens returned to their batting practice. With one out, Navigato doubled, and Kennedy launched his second home run of the season into left field. 5–4 Hens. After that, Justyn-Henry Malloy attempted to steal second base but was cut down. Jung also walked, but the inning was ended by a called strike three by Keston Hiura.

After taking over on the mound, Beau Brieske struck out three in two and a half innings while only giving up one hit ball. In the sixth, the Hens had a double with one out, leaving Akil Baddoo stranded. Binghamton Rumble Ponies 0, Erie SeaWolves 2 (box)
Opening Day at UPMC Park saw the SeaWolves prevail despite not having a lot of offensive power. In his first start of the season, Wilkel Hernandez shut out the Ponies for four innings, although he didn’t really dominate them. After taking over in the fifth, lefty Andrew Magno struck out four batters in two innings despite giving up four baserunners, including three walks.

The Hens offense was pretty quiet as well, but they finally put the first run of the game on the board in the bottom of the sixth. Trei Cruz, back at shortstop with Navigato with the Hens, singled with one out and took second on a passed ball. Hao-Yu Lee spanked a grounder back through the box to get Cruz to third, where he scored on a Blade Tidwell wild pitch.

Tim Naughton blanked the Ponies in the seventh and eighth innings. Catcher Eliezer Alfonzo mashed a solo shot to right center to lead off the bottom of the eighth, and that was all the SeaWolves needed to cruise to victory. Llover Peguero picked up the save.
