Barcelona will strive to sell a good number of players during the summer transfer window in an effort to earn cash and bring La Liga back to the 1:1 spending cap. They have been unable to spend money in the league due to stringent budgetary constraints.
This year, though, they hope to let go of every player who doesn’t have a future with the team—and perhaps even one or two valuable assets as well.
It does get easier for Barcelona since they have a number of players on loan who are also performing rather well. Sergino Dest, who appears to have revived his career at PSV Eindhoven, is one of such players.
The Dutch powerhouses are eager to sign him, but they will have to contend with a rival team.
PSV has a buyout clause of €10 million in Sergino Dest’s contract that they may activate at any time, according to an ESPN report. But Ajax, who are also eager to re-sign the American, will compete with them.
They want to present Barcelona with a competitive offer, but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to override PSV’s purchase clause, which gives them the upper hand over Ajax.
Dest has done exceptionally well at PSV this season, playing as a left-back primarily and scoring two goals and giving six assists. His role and responsibility has been likened to that of a winger with his footwork, speed, and light-footedness.
