Vos confirmed on Monday that he was in discussions with the club to become a first-team coach next season under the new manager.

Current boss John van ‘t Schip will leave his role at the end of the season and the Dutch giants are trying to find a successor, with Vos expected to work under him.

Vos’ former manager at Rangers has only good things to say about his assistant and insisted that the 40-year-old needs the step up to become a senior team manager in the future.

“He needs this step if he wants to become head coach of the first team”, Van Bronckhorst told ESPN.

“Jong Ajax and the first team obviously differ greatly, but this is the next step.”

When Van Bronckhorst looked back on their time together at Rangers, he said he felt comfortable about Vos as soon as he was brought in to be his assistant at Ibrox.

Van Bronckhorst said, “I had a good feeling with Dave right away.” “We discussed football a lot at first. The way he perceived things. As a trainer, I got to know him rather well. Good anecdotes from the Ajax training had also been told to me.

After that, you determine whether it’s something and if he can accompany you.”In November 2022, Vos and his manager Van Bronckhorst departed from Rangers after the Gers acquired Michael Beale.
