Brian Brobbey, een bekende speler van Ajax, heeft in de context van een mogelijke transfer naar Manchester United of Arsenal gepleit.
United are on the hunt for a striker and considering Erik ten Hag’s long-term interest in a reunion with Brobbey, a move could be on the cards this summer.
During the January transfer window, United were mentioned to be in for Brobbey but the club’s poor financial shape brought about by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules rendered a swoop for the Netherlands international hard to get over the line.
When Ten Hag was appointed manager of the Red Devils in 2022, the 20-time English champions attempted to lure in Brobbey but the transfer never materialized. The goalscorer snubbed United and decided to instead re-join Ajax permanently following an underwhelming spell in Germany with RB Leipzig.
The 22-year-old would be thrilled to play under Ten Hag once more, according to a report that The Peoples Person published earlier this year.
Even though Ajax as a whole has been lackluster this year, its talisman has nonetheless produced outstanding results.
Brobbey has made 39 appearances in all competitions thus far, scoring 21 goals.
In a fast-paced Q&A session with Men’s Health magazine’s Dutch version, he mentioned United as one of the teams he would love to play for in the future.
“Real Madrid is a great club, but so are Arsenal and Manchester United,” was Brobbey’s response when asked which foreign team he would prefer to play for in the future.
After that, the Dutchman was questioned about how much he thought interested parties would need to pay Ajax for his services. “I will be worth €80 million after the European Championships,” he replied.
