Rasmus Hojlund is now better than Erling Haaland at one thing after scoring vs Newcastle

Against Newcastle on Wednesday, Manchester United returned to winning ways and among the goals was Rasmus Hojlund.

Wednesday night was more like it for Manchester United in a competitive outing against Newcastle, winning 3-2 in the end.

For United, it was Amad Diallo who will have stolen all the headlines as he scored and assisted to affirm his position in the starting line-up.

Also on the scoresheet was the brilliant as always Kobbie Mainoo, as he showed his composure in front of goal to beat Martin Dubravka.

The third strike of the evening and ultimately the winner was from Rasmus Hojlund who did so well to score his goal, and in doing so has become better than Erling Haaland in one area.

What is Rasmus Hojlund better than Erling Haaland at?

'It's a big part of my life' - Haaland plays coy on signature ...

For a young striker in his debut season, Hojlund has received a lot of criticism which at times has been unfair but after scoring against Newcastle, he’s now got 15 for the season in all contributions.

With nine coming in the league, he’s set himself a very strong foundation to build upon next season when he’s more settled.

Despite being impressive, compared with Haaland, he’s scored 18 fewer goals, but this isn’t really his fault.

Haaland has a chance conversion of 23% which is now bettered by Hojlund whose conversion rate is 24%, as per StatMan Dave on X.

This suggests that, as many will already know, Hojlund’s main issue isn’t his finishing but rather he isn’t being given enough chances.

So it’s up to the management at Old Trafford to find a way for the team to create more chances going forward.

Hojlund needs help to be a massive success at Manchester United

While he’s done well this season it’s been achieved through feeding from scraps and United must work on improving the attacking structure so that he’s being handed a couple of chances per game.

The 21-year-old Dane has everything he needs to be a phenomenal striker for United and just needs the team around him to improve.
