Schedule release videos have taken the NFL by storm, but one that is garnering attention for the wrong reasons came from the organization of the Cleveland Browns.

The most viral release videos that achieved what the Browns were trying to achieve came from the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons.

The Cleveland Browns were accused of directly copying an ad from a jeans company

Jeans company Mugsy Jeans claimed via social media that the Cleveland Browns stole an ad featuring bowler Pete Weber in a nearly shot-for-shot nature.

Big Read: Meet Pete Weber, the brightest star bowling has ever known

Both videos feature Weber saying his famous quote “Who do you think you are, I am!” They also feature Weber lying down in front of lanes as well as shooting finger guns at the camera.

The Browns’ social media team also made their cover photo on X/Twitter the same as Mugsy Jeans: a shot of Weber lying down in front of lanes.

Many fans originally praised the Cleveland Browns for their schedule release video

Before Mugsy Jeans claimed the video was plagiarised, many NFL fans said that they enjoyed the schedule-release video from the Browns.

“Ohios Tate” from Barstool Sports claims Weber deserves an Academy Award for his performance in the short marketing video.

Look I’m not going to say the Browns won the 2024 schedule release, as I see that we already have blogs proclaiming that both the Falcons and the Chargers have won. So although I do believe the argument could be had that the Browns actually pieced together the best story of all 32 teams, I only want to deal with FACTS in this blog. And one thing that I’m very certain of is that the Best Cameo Award from the entire event goes to Pete Weber, who the Browns secured to come into the bowling alley and drop his most famous line.

Many other fans showed appreciation for the effort and jokes put in the video, even fans of some of the Browns’ biggest rivals.
