Town have gone through a challenging period after announcing £90 million losses in April and everyone at the club is working to try to turn it around.
And when asked how he has found his start to life at Salop, he feels everyone from the management team to the supporters has worked together.
“It has been the fastest eight months of my life,” he said.
The Shrewsbury-born goalkeeper is set to call time on a staggering career which has seen him win all the major domestic trophies in England and Scotland – Kenny Daglish and Andrei Kanchelskis are the only other men to achieve that feat.
The keeper will retire after his Celtic side take on Rangers in the Scottish Cup final this afternoon giving Hart one more chance to add to the 11 trophies he has previously won during his 20-year playing career – which also included 75 caps for England.
The Town head coach took over in January – and although he signed Jack Hinchy on loan from Brighton and free agents Jack Price and Rayhaan Tulloch in the final weeks of the season, hardly any of the remaining nine players in Shropshire are players he has signed.
In fact, aside from Mal Benning, who recently secured a two-year extension, all the players in Town’s squad have been recruited by former bosses Steve Cotterill or Matt Taylor.
The keeper, who made just 10 appearances last season, before injuring his shoulder and missing the remainder of the campaign, is out of contract with Accrington Stanley this summer – making him an ideal target for Town given their financial predicament.
Savin has also played for Stevenage after signing a seven-day emergency loan to represent them in February 2023.
