The final game of the 2023/24 Championship campaign has reached its conclusion and we now know the teams competing in the second tier next season.

Russell Martin’s Southampton ran out play-off winners over Leeds United at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, with Adam Armstrong’s early goal the only thing to separate them.

It means the Saints are elevated out of the Championship at the first time of asking, while the Elland Road club will be bidding once again next season to get back into the Premier League.

As for the Welsh teams, well, Swansea and Cardiff both had to settle for mid-table finishes last term, with both sides enduring incredibly mixed form throughout the campaign. Both will be bidding to be closer to the play-offs next time of asking.

Leeds United are installed as early favourites, as short as 6/1 to win the title. As ever, the teams relegated from the Premier League are fancied to go straight back up, too, with Burnley at 13/2 and Luton at 10/1 to bounce back.

Conversely, at the other end of the table, Oxford United are tipped to go straight back down, with Plymouth, Preston and Cardiff and all relatively short priced for relegation – which might surprise some.
