Cardiff City Supporters’ Trust have issued a statement condemning the silence from the club’s hierarchy over Erol Bulut’s position as manager and have urged the board to solve the issue quickly.
It is nearly a month since the Bluebirds were last in action, losing heavily against relegated Rotherham United, and supporters were assured that a decision over the manager’s future would be resolved as swiftly as possible.
However, that has clearly not transpired and we are now four weeks on from the season and ticket-buying City fans do not know who will be standing on the touchline when next season rolls around in two months’ time. Couple that with the transfer window opening in a fortnight and pre-season plans needing signing off and Bluebirds can rightly start to feel a little concerned by the whole situation.
The ultimate decision, of course, comes down to Vincent Tan. The club have offered Bulut a deal and if it was one he was wholly happy with, then this would have been sorted some time ago. Sign up to our Cardiff City newsletter here.
Yet it now seems more of a delicate, “who-blinks-first” scenario and it is leaving thousands of loyal fans in the lurch. And the supporters.
trust have called on the club to put an end to this state of purgatory, one way or the other, to begin laying out the roadmap for next season in earnest.
“The trust made no observations as to who should be appointed to the post only that a decision should be made speedily to remove uncertainties and disquiet amongst fans.
