Norwich City landed a top-six spot following the conclusion of the 2023/24 Championship season, but events soon turned sour for the Norfolk side, who lost their play-off semi-final second leg 4-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road.

That crushing play-off defeat prompted the club to dismiss former manager David Wagner of his duties and his replacement will look to use the summer transfer window to bolster the Canaries’ ranks.

But as well as incomings, Carrow Road will also play witness to some outgoings this summer, including both sales and loans, and these are three players we can expect to see leave the club on loan this summer:

Liam Gibbs

Liam Gibbs initially joined the Canaries from bitter rivals Ipswich Town in 2021 but the 21-year-old did not play for Norwich in the Championship until the 2022/23 season.

The midfielder made 34 second tier appearances for the Norfolk outfit that campaign but started on just 18 occasions and scored just one goal, while creating no assists.

Unfortunately for Gibbs, he was offered even fewer playing opportunities during the 2023/24 season, making only 24 appearances and four starts in the Championship as he was unable to make a single goal contribution.

This lack of game time suggests that while Gibbs is still young, and under contract until 2028, the Canaries should look to send him out on loan to a side where he is more likely to earn starting XI opportunities.

Unless Wagner’s replacement sees him as a serious option for 2024/25, a loan move feels like the best call.
