Former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell is currently in hospital, with a number of well-wishers sending messages of support to the 54-year-old and his family

Former Arsenal and Everton forward Kevin Campbell has reportedly been hospitalised after falling ill.

Campbell’s conditions is currently unknown but sources to the ECHO have confirmed his hospitalisation occurred last week.

Since news broke of his health issues, footie fans and celebs alike have thrown their support behind Campbell.

Trevor Sinclair, legendary Premier League star, took to his X (Twitter substitute) account, posting: “Sending prays, love and light to Kevin Campbell. Absolutely lovely human.”

Ste Kelly, a fervent supporter, emotionally posted on social media: “In 1999 Evertonians prayed to God and Kevin Campbell answered. Now we’re praying to Kevin Campbell, time for God to answer and help him. Dig deep big man, scramble for this.”

Campbell began his football journey with Arsenal as a schoolboy in 1985, quickly making a name for himself in the academy by netting an impressive 59 goals in a single season. He won the FA Youth Cup with the Gunners in 1988 and made his first-team debut against his future club Everton that same year.
