Liam Gibbs may benefit from a loan move to gain more playing time elsewhere after limited opportunities with Norwich in the Championship.

  •  Kellen Fisher, despite showing talent in a few appearances, could consider a loan move back to Bromley following a lack of game time at Norwich.
  •  Daniel Barden, currently third choice goalkeeper at Norwich, may benefit from a loan move after injuries and limited opportunities in recent seasons.

Norwich City landed a top-six spot following the conclusion of the 2023/24 Championship season, but events soon turned sour for the Norfolk side, who lost their play-off semi-final second leg 4-0 to Leeds United at Elland Road.

That crushing play-off defeat prompted the club to dismiss former manager David Wagner of his duties and his replacement will look to use the summer transfer window to bolster the Canaries’ ranks.

But as well as incomings, Carrow Road will also play witness to some outgoings this summer, including both sales and loans, and these are three players we can expect to see leave the club on loan this summer:

Liam Gibbs

Liam Gibbs initially joined the Canaries from bitter rivals Ipswich Town in 2021 but the 21-year-old did not play for Norwich in the Championship until the 2022/23 season.

The midfielder made 34 second tier appearances for the Norfolk outfit that campaign but started on just 18 occasions and scored just one goal, while creating no assists.

Unfortunately for Gibbs, he was offered even fewer playing opportunities during the 2023/24 season, making only 24 appearances and four starts in the Championship as he was unable to make a single goal contribution.

Kellen Fisher joined the Canaries last summer from National League outfit Bromley, who have subsequently earned promotion to the Football League via the fifth tier play-offs.

Since arriving from non-league, Fisher has not found Championship minutes easy to come by, appearing in just nine league games under previous boss Wagner and starting on just three occasions.

But despite a low amount of playing time, the 20-year-old full-back displayed his talent during a 3-1 defeat at Sunderland back in October as he got an assist.

Now that Bromley are in the EFL, a loan move back to Fisher’s former club could be an ideal one for a starlet who has not featured in the Championship as much as he would have hoped.
