The Sky Blues fell short of the play-offs after last year’s success but their journey to the FA Cup semi-final made this season another memorable one. As for the Potters, they fought relegation for much of the campaign but ended strong and will be determined to kick on.

Business is a must for both, and the Championship duo have a similar target it seems.

As per a report from The Express, Swiss prospect Alvyn Sanches has Coventry City and Stoke City among his admirers heading into the transfer window.

The 21-year-old plays for Lausanne-Sport in his native and also has Celtic on his trail. He is said to be valued at £4.3m and he is expected to depart the club for pastures new for next season.

Clubs in Germany, France and the Netherlands are also interested.

Sanches can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or striker. He notched six goals in 27 games last season and is a regular for Switzerland at youth level.

With the report saying Sanches is expected to move on from his club ‘over the coming weeks’, it might not be long before there’s firm moves made in the pursuit of his services.

If Coventry City and Stoke City decide to act on their interest, they could be in for a fight to sign the attack-minded midfielder with Celtic and clubs across Europe also keen on Sanches.

The Sky Blues have shown that they’ve got money to spend in recent transfer windows and that is likely to be the case again. As for Stoke, Schumacher will be hoping he’s backed in his first summer window in charge of the club.
