Newcastle learn fee required to sign 25-year-old England international set to feature at EURO 2024
Newcastle United have learnt that Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has a release clause of £60million with £8m in performance-based add-ons.
Eze has had a fantastic season with the Eagles but is set to leave this summer alongside his attacking partner Michael Olise, who the Magpies are also linked with.
Newcastle have previously had interest in the 25-year-old, with former Toon boss Steve Bruce admitting he tried to sign both Eze and Olise but neither wanted to leave at the time.
Despite this, a new look Newcastle could surely tempt Eze away from London to be part of Newcastle boss Eddie Howe’s squad.
Eze will take centre stage at EURO 2024
Yesterday, England head coach Gareth Southgate confirmed his 26-man squad for the upcoming EURO 2024 in Germany.
Newcastle stars Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon were named in the squad alongside Eze after impressing in the friendly at St James’ Park earlier this week.
Eze has a big chance to impress those interested in a move for him and earn himself a big money move to a top Premier League club.
It has been reported that alongside Newcastle, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are interested in signing Eze.
Eze’s form has been exceptional this season
The England international has had his best season on record for Palace, scoring 11 goals and assisting four.
He linked up incredibly well with Olise who had a fantastic season in his own right.
Eze can play in various positions, mainly as an attacking midfielder but can move into left and right wing if need be.
No bids have been made for Eze yet but with a long summer ahead there could be movement soon.
