Eagles’ security guard involved in sideline altercation gets coaching promotion

The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to forget the 2023 NFL season. The Eagles opened the regular season incredibly strong and spent several months at the top of the NFC playoff picture. However, they crumbled down the stretch and ended up getting blown out in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the Eagles’ fan favorites has earned a coaching promotion and will take on additional responsibilities in 2024.

Expect the NFL to Make an Example of Both Dom DiSandro and Dre Greenlaw - Sports Illustrated

According to Jeff McLane, Dom DiSandro, known by his nickname “Big Dom”, has been promoted to be in charge of gameday coaching operations.

DiSandro was already the senior advisor to general manager Howie Roseman and the team’s chief security officer. He reportedly now has responsibilities that involve overseeing head coach Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff on game days.

McLane also suggested that Big Dom’s title change may have been to prevent the league from disciplining him should there by another episode on the sidelines that he is involved in.

DiSandro was banned from the sideline for the remainder of the 2023 regular season after an altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. San Francisco went on to win that game, but the altercation resulted in Greenlaw being ejected from the game.

The Philadelphia Eagles will open the 2024 NFL season with a first-ever game in Brazil. They will face the Green Bay Packers on Friday September 6th at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Jalen Hurts already feeling comfortable in Kellen Moore’s offense

The Eagles replaced offensive coordinator Brian Johnson with Kellen Moore this offseason.

Moore has been an intriguing name in the coordinator ranks for years. He was most recently the offensive coordinator in Dallas for multiple seasons. Apparently, the Eagles liked what they saw from his work with their division rival.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts already seems to have taken a shine to Kellen Moore. Hurts recently spoke with the media about how he’s acclimating to Moore’s new offensive scheme.
