Eze and Olise shine for Glasner but suitors eye Palace's diamond wingers | Crystal Palace | The Guardian

Crrystal Palace learn staggering release clause for 11-goal star who almost joined in 2020

Eberechi Eze reportedly has a release clause worth a minimum of £60million as several Premier League clubs show interest in the Crystal Palace star.

The 25-year-old was one of England’s standout performers in their 3-0 win against Bosnia & Herzegovina at St James’ Park on Monday night, a display that clinched his place in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024.

Eze scored 11 goals in 27 Premier League games last season, five of which came in his remaining six matches after finishing strong the term under the management of Oliver Glasner.

Palace ended the campaign seven matches unbeaten, which included a 2-0 win over Newcastle United at Selhurst Park. Although Eze wasn’t able to find the net that night, a number of Magpies fans commented on his performance. Indeed, NewcastleWorld wrote a piece on how Eze would be a dream signing for Eddie Howe’s side.

But we also said Eze wouldn’t come cheaply and has proven to be the case with the Daily Mail reporting that his release clause is £60m, plus a further £8m in add-ons. Should the attacker star at Euro 2024, then it could prompt a team to trigger that clause.

Before heading to Crystal Palace, Newcastle tried to sign both Eze (2020) and teammate Michael Olise (2021) from Queens Park Rangers and Reading, respectively, but couldn’t tempt either player away from the south, a tale then boss Steve Bruce told last month.

There isn’t a top Premier League club that hasn’t been linked with the pair. In Newcastle’s case, Olise seems to be one interesting them more at this stage as they look to sign a right-sided forward. But of course, as supporters have discovered in recent months, there are Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) to consider when scanning the market this summer.
