Playmaker Kian Tydeman is determined to take the confidence from his impressive end-of-season form into the next campaign with AFC Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old ended 2023-24 with seven goals in six Professional Development League fixtures.

That contributed to Tydeman registering 11 goals and seven assists from 29 games for Alan Connell’s side. He helped them finish third in the South Group, in their inaugural season at category two level.

Tydeman recently put pen-to-paper on an extended contract at Vitality Stadium.

He said: “I have really enjoyed the five years I have been here. I have learned a lot, especially this season. I have developed really well under Al and I am really pleased.

“I think I have done really well and got quite a few goals and assists towards the end of the season. It gives me a big confidence boost going into next season.

Andoni Iraola underlines David Brooks' uncertain Bournemouth future amid Leeds United transfer links

“We were ready for a category two league and, in the season just gone, we proved it. It was annoying not to make the top two but we proved how good we were.

“A word that has been key this season is togetherness. We are so together as a group it’s incredible. I don’t think any other team is this together.

“We are all working hard as a team and that’s why we are playing really well.”

Formerly of Fulham before joining the Cherries at under-14 level, Tydeman showed gratitude to his mum Anne and dad Dene for their unwavering support.

“I am so thankful to my parents. The journeys they have done to Fulham and then Bournemouth,” he added.

“I’m not good at emotional conversations! But we had a chat recently after I got offered another deal and I am really proud.

“Signing another contract shows they didn’t do it all for nothing. Just to show how thankful I am to them to help me get to where I am today.

“A big thank you to them and the coaches here.”
