On Monday, Jordan Schultz reported that the Miami Dolphins are set to sign a former New York Jets draft pick. The news comes after the Dolphins held their mandatory minicamp last week. The Dolphins are looking to boost their roster before training camp next month.

Due to their salary cap issues, the Dolphins lost a few defensive players before free agency this March. They focused on adding help for the secondary. One of the Dolphins’ best signings was former Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer. He’ll team up with a secondary that includes Jalen Ramsey.

In an AFC packed with wide receiver talent, the Dolphins need to find as much help as possible if they want to beat teams like the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason.

Per Schultz, the Dolphins are signing cornerback Marcus Maye.

The Jets selected Maye in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. At 31, he’s recorded 409 tackles, 4.5 sacks, eight interceptions, and five forced fumbles. The six-foot, 207-pound cornerback has started in all 77 games he’s appeared in during his seven-year NFL career.
