HITC understands a host of clubs are chasing Rochdale’s highly-rated central defender George Nevett.
The 18-year-old stopper has become a first-team regular for Dale, after making his first-team bow last year at 17, and he made over 30 appearances.
Nevett’s performances has also seen him receive international recognition and he has been capped by Wales at Under-19 level.
HITC sources understands his performances have caught the attention of a host of clubs since he made his debut in 2023.
Crystal Palace and Southampton were strongly linked in January, but now HITC understands that they have been joined in the chase by newly promoted Ipswich.
Sources also indicate that Championship sides Blackburn, Queens Park Rangers and Millwall have watched him, whilst League One Peterborough are also in the hunt for Nevett and are keeping close tabs on the teenager.
Rochdale boss Jimmy McNulty has been full of praise for Nevett and was delighted when he signed a new deal last season.
“He’s taken on our messages from day one and has shown full commitment, and desire, to execute them every single day since his inclusion in the First Team environment,” he told the club’s website.
“He has earnt the respect of his fellow professionals to this point, but the work starts now for George.
“It is now about him continuing to work daily on his development to strive to reach his potential and become the player that we believe he can be.”
Juventus have a set budget and they are already progressing with deals for Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, Atalanta’s Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners and Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori – who is following head coach Motta to Turin.
HITC have previously reported that the Midlands club are keen on offering a new contract to the 26-year-old but it is unclear if he would accept.
