Erasmus joined the Buccaneers from Sundowns in September 2022 for a second tenure after feverish speculation linking him with a switch to Kaizer Chiefs. The seasoned striker has spent time in France, Portugal and the Netherlands before settling back into South African football in 2019. It’s anyone’s bet where he could end up in 2024-25 after being released by Pirates. He made only six league appearances last term. That’s 20% of the matches and now he’s a free agent. After so much promise, the twilight years of his career have been underwhelming in comparison.

Kermit has represented 11 clubs across five countries throughout his career. That’s impressive, in a way, but also indicates that he never quite settled and called one club home for an extended spell. Erasmus only collected 19 Bafana Bafana caps, collecting seven pieces of silverware at club level in South Africa, including three DStv Premiership crowns.
