Orlando Pirates now have the PSL’s top earner, overtaking Kaizer Chiefs highest-paid players. This is his whopping salary.
An Orlando Pirates player has just overtaken Kaizer Chiefs top-earners to become the new highest-paid player in the PSL.
Orlando Pirates now have the PSL highest-paid player in the league.
Meanwhile, he joins this Bafana Bafana player as the new top-earner in the DStv Premiership.
PIRATES AND SUNDOWNS PLAYERS OVERTAKE CHIEFS TOP-EARNERS
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly told four players that they will be released, according to Goal. Amongst these players is Keagan Dolly.
Ultimately, he has been the highest-paid player in the PSL since landing in South Africa. However, when he leaves Chiefs will have a new top-earner.
Meanwhile, as mentioned, a Pirates and Sundowns star now share the honour of being the PSL’s highest paid players. Deon Hotto takes home R500 000 which is the same as Bafana Bafana captain, Ronwen Williams, as reported on The South African.
Interestingly, Hotto is one of 13 Pirates players linked with likely exits. Therefore, Williams may sit atop as the PSL leagues highest-paid player.
TOP-EARNERS LEAVE THEIR CLUBS
Bongani Zungu was released by Mamelodi Sundowns. Meanwhile, Dolly is reportedly on his way out.
Zungu was taking home an estimated salary of R700 000, according to SalaryPedia. Meanwhile, Dolly is the only player to earn over R1 million (R1.45 million) a month. Additionally, Andile Jali is a free agent. Ultimately, any clubs signing these players will have to make big offer but they are unlikely to match these salaries given the buying power that Sundowns and Chiefs have. Additionally, several new signings will be made with big-money signings set to be made by Chiefs and their new management team.
South African is continuing to make a big mark in African football. Former Orlando Pirates coach Fadlu Davids has attracted interest from Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC.

Soon after winning the Moroccan league title with Raja Casablanca as Jozef Zinnbauer’s assistant, reports say Simba are keen to appoint the former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United coach. Additionally, Simba also indicated mild interest in Steve Komphela of Golden Arrows.
“Simba SC have shown interest in Fadlu Davids as their search for a new head coach continues,” iDiski Times reported.
