Cardiff City among clubs keeping tabs on Millwall player

Millwall’s Tom Bradshaw is on the radar of clubs in the Football League, including Cardiff City, with the forward seemingly facing an uncertain future at The Den.

The 31-year-old joined the Lions initially on loan in the summer of 2018, and he has gone on to make almost 200 appearances for the club, scoring 44 goals.

However, only four of those came in the Championship last season, with Bradshaw struggling for form in front of goal.

With the attacker entering the final 12 months of his deal with the Londoners, it’s unclear what the future holds for Bradshaw, and it seems that an opportunity to move on could be presented to the player.

That’s after Football Insider revealed that Millwall have ‘already received enquiries’ for Bradshaw, from clubs in both the Championship and League One.

The update adds that there is a belief that the ex-Walsall man could be available for a ‘cut-price’ given his contract situation, as Millwall know that if they don’t cash in on Bradshaw this summer, he will be available to leave on a free next year if no fresh terms are agreed.

Journalist Darren Witcoop subsequently stated that Cardiff City were ‘among a number of clubs’ to have expressed an interest in Bradshaw.

Tom Bradshaw exit could suit all parties

Even though the Lions are short on options up top, the idea that Bradshaw could depart is one that does actually make sense.

As outlined above, his contract situation is significant in this instance as Millwall are at the stage where they either need to offer him a deal, risk letting him go on a free, or to get a fee before the end of August.

To many, the latter could be viewed as the right choice both from a football and financial perspective, and then Millwall would need to be in the market for a few strikers ahead of the deadline.

From Bradshaw’s perspective, he has achieved a lot at the Den over the years, but he may feel it’s time for a new challenge at this stage of his career.

Given his experience, it’s no surprise that he does have suitors, and Bradshaw could seemingly have a big decision to make about his future if this level of interest results in formal bids.
