Everton in hunt for £27.5m attacker being compared to Thomas Muller
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin facing an uncertain future at Goodison Park, another striker could well be on the agenda for Everton manager Sean Dyche this summer.
The Englishman has reportedly been of interest to Newcastle United, although the Magpies are reluctant to meet the Toffees’ current valuation.
Outspoken talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has suggested Everton should be doing all they can to offload the 27-year-old.
However, before the move can take place, it’s believed Eddie Howe must look to move players on to comply with PSR regulations.
Everton appear to be planning for every eventuality, and positive news has emerged over their pursuit of long-term target Iliman Ndiaye. The former Sheffield United man is reportedly closing in on his move to Goodison Park.
However, the Toffees’ striker hunt is showing no sign of letting up.
Maximilian Beier on Everton’s radar
Hoffenheim striker Maximilian Beier is now reportedly on the club’s radar.
That’s according to German journalist Christian Falk, who has shared the latest on the 21-year-old’s future.
He explained [via Caughtoffside]: “Chelsea FC is interested in German international Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim. However, the player is not yet convinced about the change,”
“It is not the first club from England to be interested in Beier. Liverpool FC, Everton, Burnley and Brentford also always had him on the list.”
Beier is currently representing the German national team at Euro 2024, and Falk has previously claimed he resembles Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller.
“He can play on the flanks as well as centrally; he’s done it already. It’s a little bit like Thomas Muller in the sense that he’s not exactly a winger or central striker; he can also play behind the No.9, so he’s quite a versatile footballer,” Falk said in December 2023.
It’s believed Beier has a release clause of £27.5million, which could tempt Premier League clubs.
